I watched this video recap of the events in Texas recently where Senator Wendy Davis staged a filibuster.

Whether you believe in her politics or not is not for discussion here. That conversation is for another day and perhaps another blog.

However, this woman reached me like only a handful ever has. I was struck by her courage, determination and resilience to take a stand for what she believed was right. And, in doing so, she influenced and inspired so many others to follow suit.

It made me question just how often we really stand up for what we believe in, even when it’s difficult, risky or goes against the norm? You inspired me, Wendy Davis, to really examine what I truly believe in, and to take a stand if necessary, and for that I thank you.

When was the last time you took a stand for what you believe in?
